A few years ago, I asked my mom – if you could have been anything, what would it have been? She said – maybe a photographer. For her, pursuing the American Dream meant doing jobs out of necessity, not passion. She was a seamstress. A waitress. But never a professional photographer. However, there was always a camera at her side, capturing our lives over the decades. This project is an ode to that unlived dream. Over the course of six months, we scanned thousands of analog photos, carefully curating a selection of images that best reflected her style: raw and intimate, candid portraiture. Sneak peek below.
